Malaysia a Christian Nation?

What do I think? What do you think I think? I am a Muslim. So again, what do you think I think? A yes? No?

Fiqh Medic

What are the legal maxims of Islamic Law (QAWA’ID FIQHIYYAH). Let's say, if a patient is having a colostomy bag (which contains his urine or feces), would the ablution be valid? How about, if a women is in labour (bear in mind that giving birth to the first child can be as long as 19hours); can she still performs Salah? (Let's find the answer here.)

Men VS Women

Let's think critically. Who is the one which better in governing this world!? Men, who have more influencing and have strong character or women, who have emotional values, and boundless cares and love?

Are You Ready to Fall in Love??

What is love to begin with? we might assume that we have that sort of wonderful love, unshakeable by no others even death. We may sacrifice anything to our beloved person. But, if we claimed that we love Rasulullah, where are the proofs? You are willing to sacrifice anything for his sake?

Does God need us?

Now, tell me, what are the differences between this human-made lego tree and the one who created by our almighty creator, our god?

The Mystical Night of Ramadhan

Assalamualaikum w.b.t

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today, Wednesday, the 25th day of August, also the 15th day of Ramadhan, we will be having a special talk on an interesting topic (as seen on the poster) at MPH, second floor near the glass room (dear juniors, please ask around in case you do not know yeah ;-)).

The talk will, insya Allah start not after Isyak Prayer but Terawikh prayer instead, possibly around 9.30 pm. Our speaker is Ustaz Ismat who has been dedicating his time over the last 5 years coming over to Vista C Surau for weekly talk, proving his credibility and experience to share his knowledge and experience that night.

You may come join us earlier for Isyak and Terawikh prayer (at the same venue) or may choose to come afterwards at the time aforementioned above. Please help spread the message and let's spend time during Ramadhan with more educational and useful programs like this one.

May Allah bless us all, thank you.

Wassalam ;-)

Why New Blog?

Assalamualaikum w.b.t

Thank you to my friends Muslimah and Qurratulain (whom prefer to use pseudonyms-which is not wrong, but let's not speculate on that) for your feedbacks. I on behalf of new committee would firstly like to thank you for visiting us on the new blog, which by right is a way of supporting us- hence our sincerest gratitude for that.

Answering to your questions on why this new blog (as posted on the chat box), here are my answers:

1. I hope you have always updated yourselves with the progress of the old blog (it is not old, it just belongs to the previous committee) because if you do, then you should realize that there has been a major change in the layout and few other things (as you requested- and this is done quite some time ago, even before MSOC's AGM). This is done with the help of new committee, with great hospitability served and permission granted by Hanis, the original author of the blog.

2. About good materials from that blog, there is no problems at all about that. Why, because firstly, we can always copy them and republish here (like Muslimah said). Second, introducing this new blog never means that the old one is deleted, so you can always go there to revisit your favourite articles. In addition, in case you do not realize, let me kindly inform you that we have provided special link to the previous blog, under the name 'MSOC Alumni,' which is located at the right bottom corner of the new blog. Third, it is one of our aims to always provide new and fresh materials to Muslims or even non-Muslims, so that it will not only benefit our readers out there, but also provide some sort of challenges on our part to work harder- as it is an easy job to copy and paste new articles but we do not do things because it is easy, we do things because it is the right thing to do.

3. Here comes the final part. Actually, I have already discussed with Hanis at length about this. The old one has always been open to even previous seniors to contribute (articles). And we decided to leave it that way. Now, the authors is a combination of new, slightly old and old people haha =p But my point is that, there are already enough people contributing to the blog, and it is a courtesy to let them stay.

4. Meanwhile, the new blog has its own specialty. Before that, let me state here that we have also created a new MSOC Facebook (hence the name) which will work hand in hand with the blog, and this is how it'll work. All events and activities by MSOC will be informed to members via Facebook by sending them a message. They will then be directed to the blog- which will provide all the great details of any programs mentioned, venue, place, time, tentative etc. Hope you could join us on Facebook, in case you haven't.

Apart from that, we also provide a download section, which aims to share useful things such as As-Shifa', Bura' (for Ramadhan only) and some wallpapers, plus a few more to come, where and when possible. Most importantly, we also have the about us section, primarily aims to create an effective and better communication between the working group (us) and all members of MSOC. You can always talk to us personally, if you prefer so. All of these, are actually already explained in our first post- The Introduction ;-)

I hope that explains all about your inquiries. May Allah bless us and we whole-heartedly always welcome your participation with us, not because of you or us, but for the sake of the Ad-Din and Ummah, if we are sincere enough at things we do. Insya Allah.

Thank you

Wassalam

Ramadhan 2010/1431H: An introduction

Venue: International Medical University (IMU) Bukit jalil

Assalamualaikum w.b.t.

It is a great honor and blessings from Him, that we in the new committee finally managed to walk the talk by introducing this new blog of MSOC which aims at empowering us and all of you brothers and sisters out there with this means of sharing and caring. It is even more fantastic to realize that we are actually starting on this in the month of Ramadhan, the Holy month, the only one mentioned in the Quranul Kareem.

This year as usual, we continue the activities previously had by the past committees but what matters more is that we, to the best of our ability, try to make it in our own way, so that it is better and benefit all of us more and to promote creativity and progress in the society.

Like one of those sayings from Albert Einstein that says, "The true definition of insanity is doing things  by using the same method but expect a different result." This phrase is true enough with its deep meaning and in line with what Islam encourages us to do- go for something that is right (despite its difficulties) rather than things that are easy and popular (but with mediocre results). There is no short cut to success remember?

Coming back to our topic, Ramadhan Kareem, there are a number of activities that are ongoing like Bura', Bazaar Ramadhan, Mini Iftar, Tadarus Al-Quran and Terawikh prayer. Meanwhile, we will be having two more big events in conjunction with Ihya' Ramadhan, namely The Ramadhan Talk and Grand Iftar, which will be announced in further details very soon, insya Allah. It is also worth mentioning here that in this month of creating ukhuwah (brotherhood and fraternity) in Islam, we have already made a visit to Asrama Anak-Anak Yatim Darul Taqwa (ASDAT), adopted orphanage from Sg. Besi and insya Allah, will continue extending our helping hands, to help relieve burdens, where they exist, as well as to fulfill our responsibility as Muslims by giving back to the community especially the needy like these poor kids.

Over time, more on MSOC activities and events will be updated here for all of you to refer and more importantly, participate. We also have MSOC Facebook which aims to provide instant update about us as well as the blog, so it is much appreciated if you can request for membership and insya Allah we will surely welcome you in. The more the merrier isn't it? Plus, if there are things that can be shared, we surely will do so. As a start, in case you miss our weekly published Bura' at IMU, or you really wish to keep the soft copies of them, you may want to download it by going to the 'Downloads' section above.

Next, in the 'About Us' section, you can read all about our logo and our mission that we aim to achieve before we pass the baton to the next committee. The last one, in the 'Contact Us' section, you will be pleased to know that we are all ready to receive your feedbacks, ideas or comments and even any kind of sharing that you may wish to do with us. It is a great opportunity we provide that not only you can talk to us by sending email to our msoc2010@yahoogroups.com, but interestingly enough, you can also contact us personally, if you want to. Every details of us are provided, just for you, so that we promote strong and effective communication between you and us.

As a final remark, we really want to thank you very much for your first visit and we hope that you will always be with us, support us and more importantly, work with us towards creating better Muslims, therefore greater Ummah. May Allah bless us all and may this Ramadhan be better than the previous one, insya Allah.

"O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious).

(Fasting) for a fixed number of days, but if any of you is ill or on a journey, the same number (should be made up) from other days. And as for those who can fast with difficulty, (i.e. an old man, etc.), they have (a choice either to fast or) to feed a poor person (for every day). But whoever does good of his own accord, it is better for him. And that you fast, it is better for you if only you know."
